Below are recent videos produced by staff and students of the Alaska Film School. Many of these are only out-takes (YouTube versions) of the longer feature-length productions available on DVD and via digital files of various sizes and quality from small to very high quality.

The video above is the first in a long series of documentaries based upon the popular guidebook "55 Ways to the Wilderness" by  by Helen D. Nienhueser and John Wolfe

This above video is the 2nd of two videos produced recently featuring yurts built by Nomad Shelter in Homer, Alaska. This was shot across Kachemak Bay at their "Tutka Bay 2" yurt. Allison from True North Kayaking gave us a ride as far as Yukon Island. Then, Nicole Pearson and I paddled the rest of the way up Tutka Bay. Filmed by Nicole Pearson and David Lakota. Log-on to NomadShelter.com to find out more about renting or owning a Yurt.

Wilderness Adventure Documentary... this is part one of two that has been shot and edited featuring the beauty of Hawaii's Na Pali Coast on the Island of Kauai. Bahia and I began the hike close to dark enroute to Hanakapiai Beach. We decided to travel without any camping gear- no tent, no sleeping bags, no ground pad, very little food and no water except for what we found along the way. She wanted to see the famed Kalalau Valley and Beach before she departed Hawaii, and she also wanted to hone her skills of basic survival. So, we went for it. We brought just a few essentials like her guitar and a headlamp along with fire-starter.

This is part two of two that has been shot and edited so far for the recent five day adventure to Kalalau Valley on the Island of Kauai. At least one or two more segments are being edited for upload to YouTube and for creating a feature-length DVD. Stay tuned!

And check out Bahia's website featuring one of her new songs that the Alaska Film School helped her to create and upload...
